His Royal Highness Prince Mansour Bin Saad Al Saud Visits MSU-Main Campus and its KFCIAAS Complex

The Mindanao State University-Main Campus was honored with the visit of His Royal Highness, Prince Mansour Bin Saad Al-Saud of Saudi Arabia and Assistant Secretary General of King Faisal Foundation. He was accompanied by his entourage and they were escorted by the University Officials including Vice President Rasid M. Paca of the Office of Vice President for Planning and Development (OVPPD) and the dean and some faculty members of King Faisal Center for Islamic, Arabic and Asian Studies (KFCIAAS) together with Governor Mamintal “Bombit” A. Adiong, Jr. of Lanao del Sur.
A short program was prepared at the CHARM Pavilion in honor to the prince’s visit to the University where Prof. Mohammad Jihan M. Macarambon, faculty member of the KFCIAAS, led a stimulating opening prayer. Both the Philippine and Saudi Arabian national anthems were played during the event.
On his opening remarks, President Habib W. Macaayong extended his felicity to the visit of the prince. On other hand, Prince Mansour Bin Saad Al-Saud thanked everyone for giving him the opportunity to visit the Philippines particularly in Mindanao. He also emphasized that he was stricken by the hospitality of the Meranaw.
“Your quality of delivering good ethics and good communication to other culture is the most remembered in my visit, I am honoured to be with you. I really feel that I am within a community of my family,” he said.
Plaque and token of appreciation were also given to the prince and his entourage. The hall was then entertained by a kalilang from MSU Sining Kambayoka Ensemble where most of the attendees were impressed by their colorful performance. The program ended with the closing remarks of Vice President Alma E. Berowa of the Office of Vice President for Academic Affairs (OVPAA).
Thereafter, MSU officials led by MSUS President Macaayong toured Prince Mansour to Masjid Malik Al-Faisal founded by his great grandfather and to the entire KFCIAAS complex. His Royal Highness performed Friday Prayer with Lanao del Sur Governor Adiong at New Capitol Complex Mosque and also visited the Marawi City’s Most Affected Areas (MAA) by the siege.
The visitation is hoped to be the passage in strengthening the bond between MSU-Main Campus especially the KFCIAAS and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and in advancement the University’s facility and academic excellence.
